Cultural Understanding and Global Thinking in Business

As the global marketplace becomes more accessible and your business continues to expand beyond borders, understanding the importance of culture in global business can go a long way in furthering your company’s goals.

Understanding cultural differences can provide telling insights and help to facilitate conversations and negotiations.   While some confusion can often lead to amusing misunderstandings, it can also make a serious impact on your business relationships.

South Korea is known as a rapidly growing prosperous economy; home to global conglomerates called chaebols.  With a large domestic market of 50 million consumers, South Korea is actively searching for new paths to future prosperity.   While the Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement offers attractive market access for Australian goods and services, these opportunities may not be fully leveraged by businesses due to the perceived soft barriers such as language and culture.

The aim of the workshop is to help you understand the cultural differences in business to enable you to develop successful relationships in South Korea.

This workshop will enhance your capability to:

  • Understand your customers’ needs and avoid any misunderstanding
  • Appreciate how culture can affect your international negotiations
  • Negotiate with customers and business partners effectively
  • Engage and develop long term relationships with Chinese businesses effectively
  • Go into your meetings informed, confident and ready to do business
