The Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) is the independent member-based peak body for Victoria’s tourism and events industry. VTIC operates under the auspices of the Victorian Chamber and provides leadership for the sector through “One Voice’ advocacy and representation. VTIC delivers industry development programs, business and professional development services, and networking opportunities to members. Currently VTIC has over 1,100 members.
About the role
Due to an internal secondment, we have a fixed term opportunity for a dynamic individual with a strong understanding and passion for the policy issues facing the tourism and events industry to help drive VTIC’s policy direction. Working closely with various stakeholders and government bodies, this position supports our membership acquisition and retention activities by developing policy and research papers, major industry reports, submissions and responses on tourism and events industry issues. This role is also responsible for producing policy content for VTIC’s various communications channels, responding to member queries and managing VTIC’s six Policy Committees and Board.
To be successful in this role, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and previous experience in undertaking detailed business/industry analysis and policy development and evaluation. Working as part of a small multi-function team, you also won’t be afraid to use your skills and experience to roll your sleeves up and pitch in when required. Previous experience in government or an industry association is highly desirable but not essential.
