Supervisor’s text didn’t sack employee

The Fair Work Commission has upheld an employer’s jurisdictional objection finding an employee couldn’t proceed with his unfair dismissal claim as he voluntarily resigned. The employee claimed he was dismissed via his supervisor’s text asking him to clarify his employment status however Commissioner Hunt said “he could have easily responded in a return text, I have not resigned.”

Victoria’s energy crisis must be addressed by allowing onshore conventional gas exploration

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry today welcomes a policy from the Liberal Nationals supporting onshore conventional gas exploration on a case by case basis.

Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Mark Stone AM said the moratorium on onshore conventional gas exploration until 2020 was putting Victoria at a disadvantage and should be removed to allow for exploration on a case by case basis.
