World No Tobacco Day

Submitted on Thursday, 18th May 2017

Wednesday 31 May is World No Tobacco Day. The purpose of the day is to highlight the health risks associated with smoking and demonstrate how individuals can contribute to making a tobacco-free world.

Use this day to start the conversation with your staff, colleagues and community about not taking up tobacco products or quitting the habit. If you wish to create a smokefree workplace for your staff, the Quit Victoria team can assist. Access their  ‘Going Smokefree – a guide for workplaces’ to find free and low cost examples of how to go smokefree and protect your staff and visitors from secondhand smoke.

Going smokefree may form part of a broader wellbeing program in your workplace. For more information on improving your workers’ wellbeing, contact the Victorian Chamber’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing consultants on 03 8662 5333 or
