Wednesday 31 May is World No Tobacco Day. The purpose of the day is to highlight the health risks associated with smoking and demonstrate how individuals can contribute to making a tobacco-free world.
Use this day to start the conversation with your staff, colleagues and community about not taking up tobacco products or quitting the habit. If you wish to create a smokefree workplace for your staff, the Quit Victoria team can assist. Access their ‘Going Smokefree – a guide for workplaces’ to find free and low cost examples of how to go smokefree and protect your staff and visitors from secondhand smoke.
Going smokefree may form part of a broader wellbeing program in your workplace. For more information on improving your workers’ wellbeing, contact the Victorian Chamber’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing consultants on 03 8662 5333 or firstname.lastname@example.org
