As the end of financial year approaches, many Victorian businesses will be planning for the year ahead. The Victorian Chamber understands the importance for businesses to know what costs they will face so they can accurately plan their operations. As businesses are currently facing big increases in their energy bills we are concerned about the impact this may have.

Our latest Survey of Business Trends and Prospects found 20 per cent of businesses said they would be forced to pass on costs to consumers and 40 per cent would absorb the costs themselves.

The impact of rising gas prices on Victorian businesses is an ongoing concern for us and we are gauging our members views on the energy crisis in next month's Metro Forum on Energy and Resources as part of the Victoria Summit events held throughout this year.

These events will inform our policy priorities for the State election next year and more information about how you can participate in your local area is available here.

The end of the financial year will also be marked with a lunch featuring dual-sport gold medallist Paralympian Dylan Alcott OAM. Dylan will share his inspirational story of overcoming challenges to achieve his goals. Tickets are selling fast, so book early to avoid missing out.
